Advent Investment Suite Forums: During the Chicago and Boston forums, clients had the opportunity to attend a fireside chat featuring Laura Grossman, Associate General Counsel at Investment Advisory Association (IAA). The discussion covered regulatory proposals and rulings and the practical implications these will have on investment firms. The main talking points centered on the upcoming enforcement of next-day trade settlement or T+1, an SEC mandate to improve market efficiency and reduce risk. This mandate will bring about significant changes in asset and wealth managers’ daily trading and post-trade processes. Additional topics included:

The New York Forum offered clients the opportunity to hear from industry experts Eric Talley of Columbia University and Andy Bouchard of Paul Weiss during the panel discussion You Are What You Tweet: Investing in Musk. Elon Musk is adept at remaining above the fold. Since his acquisition of Twitter, rarely a day passes when he or his business portfolio is not in the news. Clients were entertained with a lively discussion on his unrestrained and impromptu nature of handling his businesses, the multiple lawsuits levied against him (including his acquisition of Twitter), and, ultimately, what it all means for Wall Street and his investors.
