Within its Florida’s Everglades environments (complete with live alligators) beneath a soaring atrium, the Gaylord Palms Resort proved to be the perfect venue for a record-breaking 1,300+ people from across the industry to preview new products and weigh-in on product roadmaps, advance their proficiency in hands-on learning labs, glean insights into industry trends, and connect with their peers. Top consulting and analyst firms like KPMG, Accenture, and Cutter Associates chose this platform to share their perspectives and current research, and attendees had the chance to exchange ideas with each other and subject matter experts on a wide range of industry topics.
Whether it’s guidance on new and upcoming initiatives from regulators, insights gleaned through C-suite panel discussions, behavioral finance, or the process for firms to address diversity in the workplace, there were many popular sessions to choose from. In addition to these sample thought leadership sessions, more than 80 people took time to participate in peer-to-peer roundtables led by client moderators or outside experts to share experiences and exchange ideas on topics including GIPS 2020, cyber security, outsourcing, emerging technology, and trends in wealth and asset management
Deliver wrapped up with a main-stage conversation led by President and COO Rahul Kunwar and five SS&C Technologies’ business unit leaders. Among the group, we heard common themes including the inevitability of AI, untapped opportunities for cloud and mobile applications, and the drive to create more consumer-friendly digital experiences, on a par with what people have come to expect from social media or retailers like Amazon. Robert Roley, SVP and head of SS&C Advent, likened the trend toward intelligent technologies to the embrace of the cloud a decade ago and said that all SS&C Advent product teams have been asked to incorporate emerging technologies into their product plans. Those initiatives have already borne fruit, he noted, with solutions such as Advent Lumis®, the data governance and quality assurance module for Geneva, and Tamale RMS, the leading research management solution, which is about to launch a new capability to auto-categorize research data.
With all the key learnings and thought leadership, there was still room for play. Evening activities included reception hours, and an evening at Universal Studios CityWalk, where guests wandered among several different culinary choices and entertainment venues.
SS&C Deliver is an invaluable opportunity for clients to meet face-to-face with each other and our employees to gain a deeper understanding of the industry’s goals. Our annual conference takes these conversations to an elevated level. Everyone is busy with full-time day jobs, yet when over 1,300 people take the time to connect in person, friends are made, insights are shared and collaboration starts, ultimately making the event greater than the sum of the sessions. Thanks to all the panelists, guest speakers, session leaders, industry partners and clients who made SS&C Deliver 2019 memorable and meaningful. Mark the dates for next year, September 15-17, again in Orlando. And join the conversation all year round through our blogs.
